Anime information:
In Highschool of the Dead, Rei Miyamoto (宮本麗, Miyamoto Rei) is a second year student of Fujimi Academy, and a classmate and childhood friend of Takashi Komuro since kindergarten. She is also a protagonist of the story, next to Takashi Komuro and Saeko Busujima. Rei is a member of the Sojutsu club, and her combat skills have proven to be a strong asset to the group. She fights with a spear made from a broomstick, but, later in the story, she uses a M1A1 Rifle with a bayonet attached. She's also a member of Takashi's Group.
Rei has long, orangy-brown hair with bangs hanging over her face with two strands sticking out above the rest of her hair along with a small, single ponytail on the back of her head which leaves the rest of her hair long and reddish-brown eyes. She also has a slender figure and ample breasts. Throughout the series, she has been constantly dressed in her school uniform and has seldom changed her attire.
After they leave Rika Minami's house, Rei stops wearing the black, thigh-high socks she had on and replaces them with knee pads, in addition to elbow pads. She wears a different green skirt and removes the bow from her shirt. She also adds white fingerless gloves and combat webbing to hang her M1A1 rifle on.
While at Shizuka Marikawa's friend's house, Rei changed into her pajamas which is a tight, pink tank top and white panties.
At the Takagi Estate, Rei is shown wearing a white robe.
In an Omake chapter in the manga, Rei is seen wearing a maid outfit, an Elegant dress with earrings, a bondage dress with a whip and even a puppy costume, as suggested by other female characters.
As a member of the Sojutsu Club, Rei is a headstrong and reliable member of the group. She is very caring towards everyone, especially Takashi Komuro, and is easily one of the most kind-hearted members of the group, if not the most kind-hearted. Despite her combat abilities, Rei has a generally pacifistic personality, and seems to be the only member of the group who recognizes "them" as people- during the group's fight in Taiei Shopping Town, she states that, in spite of all they've been through, she still hasn't gotten used to killing in order to survive, and she hopes she never will.
